You never know what can go wrong with smartphones. I've had to replace at least half a dozen smart phones in the many years since I've started using them. I've always had TEP and it's equivalents on Sprint and Verizon. With a smartphone I think it's absolutely worth it as I can just walk into a store and have them either fix or repair my phone on the spot.
