FWIW, I'm having the same issue with my wife's TP2 on Sprint. The SMS alerts don't work because she receives the SMS in Sense, and any SMS sent from the "All Messages" SMS/MMS interface doesn't go through.
FWIW, her TP2 was fresh out of the box and then flashed to 6.5 just after activating.
I'd be very interested in how to delete the inbox as well.
