from what i understand...no carrier will allow this. its all or nothing. standard phone and a separate pda or a celly pda with all the bells and whistles. you are definately not the first with this issue and not the last. ask the carrier for the best info. if you have the phone cut off you can still use it as a pda and for wifi but not for calls...unless you maybe use skype or something via wifi for calling. but people couldnt call or text you then.
