I didn't mean that Data Disconnect was good or bad, but was just curious if my understanding of your 2 options was correct:
1) Keep Data Disconnect in ROM, disabled by default, enable-able via cabbed reg entries.
2) Don't include Data Disconnect in ROM at all, enable-able via cabbed files and reg entries.

I think we are talking about two different things.
The "Data Disconnect" application will stay in. From what I can tell it is only used by the HTC Comm Manager (which isn't included). I put it in the ROM just incase someone wanted to use it for another reason. It had nothing to do with the problems we were discussing above.
The fixes I cabbed up were just those two registry entries. The future ROM builds will have SuspendResume set to #777. If you wanted the data to auto-disconnect then you'd just run the appropriate cab to change those entries. That data disconnect is handled by the OS.
Sorry for the confusion hehe
