I was getting this over and over on my wifes phone (HTC Pure) and it wouldn't let me assign the button for vlingo. Vlingo expects to be assigned to the Send (Hold) button. The problem is that the Send (Hold) button actually has a different ID on different devices. So... to fix the vlingo issue, you have to create yourself a fake button that has the ID that the program is expecting. Get ahold of a registry editor for your device. I got one called regedit by "PHM Tools" off of some forum. You need to go to this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys.

create a new key with this as the key name: 40C1

Now after you install vlingo and it makes you go through the assign button sequence, you can assign the new button to vlingo to make it think it has been assigned to Send (Hold). After you get past the setup screen, you can go back to the button assign screen in windows and assign vlingo to whatever button you want and continue through the setup process. After you do this, you can go back and delete the registry key you created so that you don't have a rougue button on your phone that doesn't exist.

Thanks,

Brian
Have you tried this? I'd love to get a working version on Vlingo on my HD2!
