Found it guys. I used the office 2010 package posted a few pages back instead of ripping it from the 235XX chain. The mxipupdate_office_100.provxml file included in that has a set of commands to delete the icons. It looks like this was meant to be added overtop of and older version of office. Anyways, to fix, go to SYS/21646/Common/Shared/Office/ and edit the mxipupdate_office_100.provxml file. You will want to delete or comment out this.
