I also noticed that my TP2 seems to charge much faster from an AC adapter than the USB port on my laptop. Is the orange indicator lighting when you plug it into the USB? I installed this cab and was able to better eval charge rates:

I can play YouTube vids from the included Opera version with no probs. You could try the flash issue patch from here in post #2:
