Actually it appears to be different than a real hard reset. The theme was some green thing that I couldn't change. I did a proper hard reset and it seems back to normal. I just installed a cab, worked fine.
But how do I know it won't happen again?
I'm going to reflash off the SD card instead of ActiveSync...
