You can't run the data connection at the same time as activesync, there is no fix for it because it's not broken, that's just the way WM works.

Manila messaging is already disabled on this ROM. NRG has it set up to where if you actually click on the message it will bring up manila messaging but if you go menu -> reply it brings up a skinned (but standard) WM messaging. That's how he likes it and has set it up intentionally.
