maybe I am reading your post wrong but Root has not updated Sense 2.1 since 02/12/10. Could you possibly be using XXXRootRomLS from 03/26/10? Anytime things start dragging for me, I usually check how much memory I have left, what apps are running in the background and even switching out the animated wallpaper usually helps. Keeping too many emails and sms/mms can severely slow down our phones too. Hope some of these suggestions help.
