It depends on the app for the storage. Regular apps can be anywhere from 100Kb to 3+Mb.

Games can be the same, but up to like 10Mb or more. iGo, once fully installed, is like 30Mb.

Hopefully Google will allow us to install to the SD card natively soon.

Right now you can install to the SD card depending on the ROM you use, so you have to be unlocked. You have to partition your SD card though. You need an ext2, ext3, or ext4 partition, then the rest can still be fat32. The ROM has to have app2sd enabled.

Basically, when you unlock you install a recovery partition in order to be able to flash ROMs. From there you can format your card too.

So I have about 120Mb free of internal storage and I made a 1Gb ext4 partition on my card for apps and still have about 700Mb free with quite a few apps and games installed, including iGo.
