as far as i know you need reflash with this in a new rom, you cant install is after the fact.
things i like:
1. you can reply with a SMS or MMS, you pick when you click reply
2. the send is a soft key, you dont have to tap the screen
3. Autodisconnect from DATA and it wouldnt switch to that annoying screen after it plays a picture, but you can do these with regedits now for the older version
