Can Verizon phones be used on Sprint? (Even theoretically??). Say I buy Moto Droid, but would like to stay with Sprint. Are there any technical reasons it cannot be done??? Just legal issues?? (T-Mo openly encourages iphone use on thei network). Can Sprint CS activate Verizon phone if they would want??

Thanks

No they cannot, they have a list of allowed ESN on their networks and any ESN that is no registered will be rejected. An agent couldn't add it even if he wanted to. Yeah it sucks I know. (its not that they are not compatible, sprint system would just purposely reject it)

ESN is different then GSM like t-mobile, there is a petition you can try to sign if you want to:

The only way is to swap the ESN between another device and make it work but tempering with a device unless you are the manufacturer is against many state laws
