there's another thread about this...........search "having issues with 1x and evdo".......mine would only connect to the internet if the 1X was showing......EV would display but that only meant EV was being detected................do ##debug# from the keypad, at bottom left, select "debug info" then HDR.......look at bottom line to see if AN/AAA is authenticated or not................mine wasn't and had to upgrade my vision pack.
