Download the outlook connector and install it. Then just setup the account like a normal pop/imap account in Outlook.
You wont be using WMDC for the email account just to sync contacts from Outlook to the phone.
On the device setup your Windows Live and that will setup the email on the phone and give you the option to sync your contacts as well with the phone and Windows Live.
