Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)
Pooh434... I just reflashe the stock Sprint 6.5 rom and had tethering working in about 2 minutes so it definetely does work still.
Here is how I did it. First after fresh flash is to do the registry edits. Make sure you are also doint the edit in the cmgaridan folder too. The new key you have to create is a DWORD Flags=4. After you correctly do all the registry edits, install the modem fix cab and it should prompt to reboot.
After the reboot you will see the new internet connection sharing icon in the start menu. That's the one you want to use. For the first time you want to open this new ics and dont plug your phone into the usb yet. open ics and make sure you see Sprint in the connect to field. Select Sprint as well as usb as the method. dont connect to usb cable yet... Now press the connect soft key in lower left of your screen. you will see the error saying check usb connection. thats good now simply plug in the usb cable and wait for it to connect. If you get the htc connection pop-up choose the internet sharing option not activesync and not usb drive.
Another thing that may be causing your problem is that you dont have activesync drivers installed on your pc/laptop. if you have windows vista or windows 7, go to microsoft.com and find the latest download for Windows Mobile Device Center. That is very important for properly syncing your phone with usb. install windows mobile device center and i believe all the rest of my instructions should have you tethering again in no time.
By the way, I have the latest PRL and it does not cause me any tethering issues. I dont know why people believe this. At least for me it doesnt prevent tethering. One more thing Pooh434... i also installed the stealth tethering cab as the very last step and this is optional but i did it and can still tether in the method i explained. Please keep me posted on your results Pooh434. Good Luck friend!
