Re: Official Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 RELEASE (Official Discussion Thread)

tx_db and wherestheanykey,

Thanks for your help, but I'm totally frustrated and a bit envious at this point. I re-flashed the Sprint 6.5 ROM for the third time to clear all cabs and reg edits for tethering, and I still can't get USB tethering to work. I did the three registry edits and saw no change. It does not put the ICS icon in your start menu that has the selection drop down Sprint or Phone as Modem. You have to use the original ICS icon under tools and all is list is USB or Bluetooth PAN. I clicked USB, connect, and NOTHING... Ugh!!! So, I add the stealth tethering cab, reset, and the new ICS icon is in the start menu. I select Sprint, connect, and NOTHING. On both occasions, te status just sets at Check USB Cable Connection. I used PHM Reg Editor and after the update was my first time ever using one. After I change the settings, I just hit Exit. After the reset, the changes were still there, so I don't know what's wrong. My PRL is 60662. I read a couple of pages back that this PRL makes tethering harder to connect, and people were looking for the 60652 or 60657 PRL. I always have a data connection, so let me verify this: when I connect the USB, should I choose Active Sync, Data File Transfer or Internet Sharing (phone as modem)? I've been selecting Active Sync (as I did on 6.1 with no problems). I don't get it... I use the net occasionally at home (a dial-up only area), so I was so spoiled by the occasional surfs via USB to PC before the update. Grrrr.........
