LOL...I don't even know what an avc movie is so it doesn't matter much to me. But it plays the mpegs and mov files I have just fine. The GPS was the real bonus for me. If Sprint does something like that, I will be absolutely astounded. Personally, I think everyone is getting excited over what will almost certainly be a half-assed, locked down feature that Sprint will use to collect yet another $10 a month. Along the same lines, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if you have to sign up for RevA and pay for that on top of EVDO. So really, the only thing I'm interested in is a fix to this problem. To that end, I got an email from HTC asking for phone info (including IMEI...wtf?) and a description of the problem. I filled it out and mailed it back but man, don't they use their own stuff? How can you miss WMP not playing video worth a damn when it comes with the phone? Part of the OS, in fact. How do you not know about that? And why does HTC need a description from people like me? Step 1: Copy short video to phone. Step 2: Play video. Step 3: Observe results. Wow, there's 20 seconds of some tech's day. What do they have, 3 employees, two of which are minimum wage? Frankly, it still makes a LOT more sense that Sprint told them to do this on purpose. It'll be interesting to hear the excuse when an update is released and the problem isn't fixed.
