HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila ... HomeLSKPath and HomeLSKText ... you cannot replace (that I can tell) the HomeRSKPath/Text values to override the Menu option (unfortunately).

For WM6.5 you no longer need a special taskbar to see the 1% incremental status. Just click the battery icon or go to Power control panel applet and you'll see the 1% status. However, you can check the main forum for taskbar replacements.
