I haven't had this issue myself because I always either let the SMS thread fully load before sliding out the keyboard, or I don't go into SMS until I slide out the keyboard (if I know I'm going to be typing alot).
I noticed that as well. I'll just have to be conscious of the window before I whip out the keyboard. Thanks.
