Maybe I'm weird... but I have multiple cameras
- mogul, for when I want to shoot a picture of something spur of the moment, like something in a store, or my meal, or a contact photo, or a whiteboard at work
- Nikon Coolpix L11 (and an L4 in the kid's hands too) for vacation/casual events where I would not want to have the bulk (or the risk) of the D70 DSLR
- Nikon D70 + assorted lenses, flashes, etc for when I want to be a photographer.
I will often have all three as these camera qualities are additive
But to expect the telephone to shoot as well as even the $120 Coolpix (which is roughly the same size, but has 8Mpix and a sensor that is no doubt massively larger, a lens that is 10 orders of magnitude larger, and dedicated image processing hardware) is madness. It's a $5 camera for heaven's sake. Maybe $10. Tops. It shoots just like one, too.
So, yeah, the mogul takes wonderful cellphone shots.
