You aren't trying to use the rootfs.img in Post #1 are you? That has specific changes to the RIL just for CDMA, it will prevent GSM from working, you should be using the public rootfs.img http://xdandroid.southcape.org/rootfs/ And most of this discussion is geared towards CDMA obviously, but I imagine the talk works on both!
