Of course it is different in every area... but I know in my area the channel scan has VZW EV channels before my standard EV channel. So what happens?
The phone will scan, see an EV signal, check it, the subnets are wrong so it skips it, then finds the regular EV channel. Not sure how often the phone does this as it wants to check the others channels first all the time, so it checks all the time. With no other changes I would normally have about 70%-80% of battery life when I left work for the day, with this PRL change, I would leave work with 50%-60% battery life. Plus data would sometimes take a while to connect.
So what did I do.... I took the PRL, added another acq record for my SID and put the only one channel that it uses. Awesome battery life and no stalling on EV anymore. If I travel out of town I just hit PRL update before I leave town.
