Yea... they make "direct download" packs as you call them of the "big" releases.

The reason for all the links is you notice that those packages are getting DAILY updates?

It would be a huge issue to have to repackage these every... single... day.

If you want to, go ahead! I just know that no one else wants to. They'd rather just get the updates they need and copy 'em over. It's the easiest for all.

So if you want to wait for the direct download packages, that's fine - you'll probably get the most important stuff wrapped up in a neat little ball. If you want daily updates, you gotta do a little legwork yourself.

Also, just keep in mind that some of these daily updates will have regressions - so they could break something. Hence the reason this is all at your own risk, and also the reason that we don't have complete daily download packages.
