You shouldn't have to test it yourself. That's why you got a loyal group of followers here to test it.
I really don't see how it would cause any problems by removing the splash screen from the rom image. For those who already have anything other than stock as their splash, it would just keep that splash screen. As for those who want to revert to the stock splash screen, a simple "flash dance" to the stock rom and back to Vin's roms is needed.
