In other words, I have not once said that we should be able to get these devices without a battery, or the OS or heck even the phone plan for that matter, as those are all very largely necessary items for this device to function as designed.
But that data plan is not and in fact for many is not even a 1% item for them to use it.
But it is a 100% item they are forcing us to pay for if we want to get it at all though isn't it.
An as we are given no choice for that we are have no choice about it.
As I have always stated, I have never disputed that some may need the data plan an I understand an support if that, if that is what you want, the more power to you, but for those that don’t and do not need any of that to get 100% usage out of all the other functions they may want to buy this device for, they should not be forced to pay for something they will not be using and do not need just to get all that.
Make it a choice and every one will get what they want, except maybe for the ones who may have to pay more for what they get now as it is not being paid for by those who don’t want that.

Wrong again shoe laces are not 100% required for shoes I can show you many styles where shoe laces are removed. 2nd if footlocker wanted to charge extra for shoelaces they would still have the right to charge whatever they want just like you have the right to buy your shoes somewhere else. All your points fail and are bad points. You keep giving examples that don't benefit your point. Verizon is doing nothing wrong. You as the customer have options which make it not stealing. Yes they may be extorting you but in no means is it immoral. If you feel like you're being taken advantage of then bounce. You are the ONLY one arguing your point in here so its obvious you're wrong.
