The principle we're trying to defend is that someone shouldn't have to pay for something they don't want or need.

Let's dumb it down for you in a similar scenario to see if you can comprehend what we're trying to say, OK?

When you see that a new movie comes out and you want to go and see it you make plans to go to your favorite theater. You've gone there for years and you've always been happy with the seats, cleanliness, employees or whatever. You head out one day to see the flick and after you pay for your ticket you walk through the door with your wife or significant other and the usher pulls you aside and says "hey buddy, I can't let you guys through to see the show". You figure WTF...I paid to see the show!!! The usher explains that they just got a new popcorn machine, and a new soda machine and it doesn't appear you have either of these items in your hands. You kindly tell the usher that you don't want any popcorn or soda as you're not hungry or thirsty. You just want to see the show you paid for and that you've been going here for years and didn't have to pay for those items in the past unless you wanted them.

What do you guys do in this situation?

I chose to forfeit seeing the movie at that particular theater even though I was OK with the admission price. I could care less rather or not they got new equipment. Sure, that popcorn may be mighty tasty and that soda better than I ever had but I don't think I should have to purchase it just because they purchased the equipment to make it.

I hope you all can understand what is being discussed here. I'd find it hypocritical based on principle for you to attend the theaters next time without purchasing a tub of popcorn or a drink so that you can support the movie theater, increase their profits and provide them with better infrastructure so that it makes yours and everyone elses movie watching experience that much better
You're whole argument is wrong and you're only looking at it one sided which is why no one responded. Your talking about losing money, because the customer will walk away. Trust me their making way more money by letting the few walk away that wont use their features and charging those that actually want it. Man I understand what you are defending but you're not realizing if they don't charge they will never be able to upgrade their services. As a consumer I want the upgraded services and Verizon or any other company has to figure out a way to bring it to me. NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO DO ANYTHING. If you want to use it on vzw's network them you have to pay them. Otherwise buy the phone full price and Dont activate it on their network or activate it on metro. Its that simple.
