i understand that flashing a new rom is a no-no. this falls under the "unauthorized modification" clause in the HTC warranty. what irritates me is that this is an incredibly vague statement because in terms of software or unlocking it says nothing at all. there is nothing that warns you whatsoever that you might be voiding your warranty. the only damage to the hardware that is possible by unlocking the phone i think would be bumping up the Tx power (if that is even possible), or maybe loading some broken firmware or bios update or what have you.

also, not sure if you're aware, but there are laws in place to make sure that companies honor the warranties they offer. it is not just "their call" to refuse a warranty request. a warranty is a legally binding contract. if someone thinks they have a fair right to their warranty then they should try to prove their point.
