Motorola has made some of the most robust phones in history. You'll be hard pressed to find a more durable phone than the i580.
Your case is more an example of the refurbished arena being subpar. When you replace your phone through warranty they just hand you someone else's troubles. You need to make a stink and get a brand new phone.
EDIT: You probably have the same phone that jrodizzkool01 replaced.

Haha. Yeah, probably was the same one. I have an i580 Nextel and it is a good phone. Kinda primitive, but yes, a good sturdy phone. Actually, I bought one for every one of my employees and none of them have broken after a year now. Other than the i580, I haven't had much luck out of Motorola phones personally. This is the last straw for me. If this Droid sucks, I am not going to accept another "Certified Like New". It will be up to them to either lose my business or simply send me a new phone. I have been with Verizon from the start. Replacing my phone with a new one is the least they should do. I am paying over $2K/yr for 2 lines with data.
