all good ideas folks. When I travel by car I use my tp2 as an mp3 player and a tv sometimes (not while driving!). I even use TVOut to a bigger screen (an old in-car DVD player that the kids use on long trips). Works awesome for GPS navigation! Honestly, I use the standard HTC dongle that came with the TP1, a 3.5 stereo connection cable, and an video ipod cable for the setup.

No noise for me at all, but I could see how you could have noise if there is any unshielded or ungrounded connections somewhere in your vehicle wiring system.
