I've tried your step 1 six or seven times. I'll try another custom rom though, maybe a stock rom. What rom are you using?

Also, I noticed in the android advanced wifi settings, my MAC address is unavailable. I googled this and found this site http://www.htc-android.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=445 which says that you have to manually edit your mac address in a text file before loading. Does this apply for the TP2 and if so, how can I do this? For people who have it working, do you see your MAC address in the advanced wifi settings or is it "unavailable"?
