Anyone else having the issue? I tried soft reset, setting the device to "unified volume mode" and then setting it back to "independent mode." No matter what I do, the ring volume seems to serve no purpose.

I don't know where unified volume mode is located, but I have single volume setting under settings, sounds & displays. Setting that to off worked for me.
