A couple weekends back, I went from Montgomery, AL to south-central IL and picked up an airstream. It was only a 23 or 24 footer with nothing in it. I'm guessing it to be ~4,000 lbs. I took it to Marietta, GA. On the way to GA I topped off in KY, and towed from there to Marietta, then (not towing) all the way back to Montgomery on less than 28.5 gallons. When I was towing I swear I had to be getting close to 15 mpg. Of course I tow at 65 mph unless I'm running late for supper.
