yeah, some key words are useless in searches anymore.

you should use the radio for your device and carrier. (the potential for bricking exists with others)
the carriers occasionally push updates of the radio info to our phones, but often you will only get them if your using the stock carrier rom. the forums provide them so ppl can manually update themselves (or play around with reception, but that's local to you)
