RE: If you flash the cookiemonster version you can remap the application clicking on the calendar button brings you to (either through the registry or the Cookiemonster Home Tab Editor that I've attached)

-->> All in all, the visual and functional differences that have come about from 23518 to 23540 are so minor to my everyday use. In addition, the individual mods (16 quicklinks, BG4ALL, etc.) are so easily accessible that I think I'll flash back to 23518 and customize. In my experience, it is the most stable of all the 6.5.x ROMS. I'll openly admit I am as quirky and OCD about my devices as the next PPCGeeks member and I prefer basic functionality (damn calendar issue) to function the way it is intended out of the box. NRG's ROMS are still badass and far and away the best looking.
