and Telus indicates that their 3G network Runs on 1900/850 MHz frequency bands.
I guess I am coming across as a Noob - I just don't want to drop 600 bucks for something that isn't going to work.
Can somebody who knows more about this then me tell me if the T8585 will work with Telus with both voice and 3G connectivity?
Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated.
Somebody told me that I need the T9193 (which has better specs) but it seems to me that the stats would make it incompatible.

The 8585 does not work on telus 3g. Telus 3g runs on the 850mhz band where the t8585 only supports 900/2100 for 3g connections. If you were to get the t8585 you would only be on edge for data, the voice service would be fine though.
The T9193 is the phone that you should could. It is made for Australia 3g which is the same as Canadian 3g and At&t in the states (850mhz). You can look on ebay for this model or check out personaldigital.com.au for it.
Here is an article that references all of this.
