when using the Phoenix 2 23529 version, I register my gmail settings like usual, having it sync every 15 minutes. After a day or so, I have noticed that the tab is gone in HTC Sense, it isn't syncing the new mail, and I cannot re-add or adjust any of the settings to the gmail account because it says the account already exists, although it isn't visible.
