Yet another option I use is to use the keyboard config app built into the rom and map a double click of the center dpad button to bring up arkswitch. I also use keyboard config to map a double click of the home key to bring up the start menu. I just got a diamond and I really, really, really miss the "it just works" nature of the raphael keyboard config app.
I know touch is all the rage in phones these days but there's something really satisfying about the tactile feedback you get from hitting a hard key.
