hmm, I often use Remote desktop at work, and it can handle no net access or a few minutes before it automatically disconnects. I'm sure network connectivity would keep alive somehow, dont know. Are there any other programs that "might" lose usage? The iphone does not multitask, and works very well as is. I've never ran into a problem with multitasking on the iphone, so I really cant understand it too well. From a technical standpoint, yet, it may seem like a problem, but for a practical point, havent seen it cause a problem.
I think the reasoning behind single tasking is to make each single task run at optimum speeds since the phone platform is only good for working with one task at a time. I'm assuming that will also improve memory usage and prevent memory leaks.
