Re: Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated Feb 15, 2010*

I though I might respond to some of the recent posts with my own experiences.

First, I had a very difficult time getting the latest sense cab to install; I had the same error message as 'argentinito'. That was after performing a hard reset. It did finally install after several tries but I cannot tell why it suddenly worked. I will say that given the size of the cab you probably have to copy the cab to your storage card and install it to device memory from there. Also, all the cabs needed to get this to work have to be installed to device memory.

Second, after using this for a day I find that the performance is not as good as the previous sense 2.5 cab. It seems very slow at times. You definitely have to have a lot of patience, especially after a soft reset. It can take several minutes for TF3D to boot up and even after the home screen displays it may take a few more minutes before the slider will respond and the other tabs will respond.

Third, I haven't experienced the duplicate icons that others have reported, at least not observable if I press the windows button. BTW, the windows button opened a HTC-skinned programs interface in the stock TF3D, instead of the MS honeycomb, because the version of TF3D that came with the Imagio was written for our specific phone with its physical windows button (there is no programs tab in our stock TF3D version). My guess is that the sense 2.5 version of TF3D doesn't have this same skinned program interface because it wasn't written for our phone and because HTC placed some quick launch buttons to the home screen. In addition, if some people think they are missing programs after doing a hard reset and intalling sense 2.5, it may be because your programs are on the storage card and their shortcuts would have been removed from the startup folder after a hard reset.
