Note, for all those nifty UI features (multi-touch, shaking/rotating sensing) you'll need new hardware, since the current hardware can only sense a single touch point, and lacks the accelerometer needed for sensing orientation/shaking/turrets syndrome.
Its nice that Microsoft knows how to copy. It would be really cool if they could learn to innovate. But hey, at least they can copy.

Did you even bother to read the links/articles? It clearly stats that this could be provided as a simple OS upgrade. There will be no need for gyroscopes and accelerometers. It will instead use the camera. This way it can tell if it's on a table, on the carpet, in your pocket, etc. Allows for cooler things to be done...at the cost of battery life.
