if you try to use flash on a computer with no graphics acceleration driver, you will notice it is extremely slow.
and considering mobile phones are just starting to hit the 1ghz standard, this is something that can't be overlooked.
Flash seems to require adequate graphics power to run properly, but that is no excuse for the iPad to not have it, it could be a license thing too, that is starting to become apparent. Its all about a bunch of high-up big wigs that are so high up on there asses that they want money and more money for something like this, and will go to extremely lengths to ensure they control the platform (ie: no OEM interfaces or cab installs, coincidence?)
although, Windows is really pushing Silverlight, they have it on the Xbox 360 as a flash alternative so that could be whats happening here for WinMo7
they did mention it won't be natively supported, but flash could still come, its not completely ruled out
