Give this thread a try. It takes a little bit of work, but this will allow you find which settings can be backed up in the registry and which ones simply can't:

There's also a utility called SKTracker (not free) but it tracks every change on your device instead of just registry changes (i.e. also tracks files, dlls, et. al.)
