Typically, unless you're within a certain window like 30 days or whatever, if you get a replacement, it will be a refurb unit. I'm waiting on my new unit due to the "N" button not wanting to work consistently. Since I brought it back to them a couple of days after buying it, they are replacing it outright with a new unit.

I didn't get insurance or replacement on mine since I figure, I've had Axims for years and never had an issue other than battery replacements so I think I'm not too rough on them.
