I belive this is a registry edit. HKLM\Software\HTC\PushInternet\Enable => change to 0

See you won't need a kitchen class if you keep up the research. I have a GENERIC kitchen that you can start with. It is not my setup with the cricket stuff but I made it a carrierless kitchen and you will have to manual or use cab to setup cricket.

It is how I started...and I will share if you would like to try it. PM me your email address. I only have the free edition on my file share so the kitchen is too big to post it.
