It's not a charger I'm plugging in but rather a 3-in-1 adapter. I'm trying to get the proclip charging dock to allow audio out while preserving the function of the internal mic. I wonder if it would be as simple as pulling a pin from the USB plug?

Are you positive that it's hardware related?
