Edit: New navimote version
Navimote is an alternative to navizon for logging and phone location tracking. It silently runs in the background waiting for a ping to send a phone location. Also if you sign up for navizon it allows you to enter your username and log wifi and cell towers for money. A bit more about the data collecting capabilities:
- Data (Cells and APs) will be collected only when the phone is connected to external power and only when Navizon has found a GPS that provides a valid location.
- Data will be uploaded automatically around midnight
- You can force an upload by disabling Navimote, exiting Navimote, restarting Navimote and enabling Navimote again.
- There's no feedback in the client. You will be able to see the data on your rewards page.
Advantages of using Navimote to collect data:
- It does not scan for cells/WiFi when the phone is running on battery, so your phone won't die if you forget to switch it off.
- It's fully automatic, just "set it and forget it", connect the phone to external power in your car and whenever possible, and points will accumulate on your rewards page.
