Linux

I know that there are phones that run on a Linux base (openmoko) but i was wondering if there was any form of Linux that could go on an HTC cdma phone and it would still be able to make and receive calls and do whatever the phone is supposed to do normally, but doing it within Linux. i just thought it would be cool to try, and figured this would be the place to ask.

thanx in advance for anyone with any information they may have on this subject... ^^
