With S2V are you browsing your memory card? By default it only brings up the images in the My Pictures folder. You need to hit the arrow on the bottom to search other folders on your device.
For S2U2 did you read the FAQ? Other than that I don't know what the problem could be...
Q. My device shows a black screen when run S2U2 or "S2U2 Settings"?
A. It's not compatible with S2U2. Try different "Display Mode" option - RawBuffer, DirectDraw or GDI (S2U2 Settings > Advanced).
A. Completely uninstall S2U2 & reinstall again.
