It's the Master Security Lock code. It gives you access to programming your phone, usually given to you by Sprint when you activate your device over the phone and it is ##nnnnnn# code, where the n's are random numbers.
It is also recommended not to post or give it to strangers. It can also be used to change the Slot Cicle Index (SCI) which makes the device ping the cell towers more/less often which ends up in making your phone ring faster compared to the rings the caller hears on their end.
I'm sure there are other advanced uses for the code, these are the only ones I know of.
